Science 5: Famous Scientists (Balzer): Using Books

Books in Your Classroom

Ms. Balzer has a cart of books in her classroom with lots of information on a variety of scientists. Some have entire books written about them, and others might have a few pages, or a whole chapter, in a collective biography (a book with short biographies of many people).

You can look for information in a few ways:

  • Check the Table of Contents to see if the book has a chapter on your scientist or their discovery or invention.
  • Check the Index for a mention of your scientist (remember to search for their last name).
  • Look for a Timeline to see the highlights of your scientist's life and career.
